For 25 years, business people around Memphis and the Mid-South give
Junior Achievement a hand in raising funds for JA programs and
activities by taking part in the annual "Bowlin' On The River"
Bowl-A-Thon. This event is not only a major source of
funding but also great entertainment for thousands of
participants. This year we expect to have more than 120 companies and 6,000
bowlers participating.
Proceeds from the Bowl-A-Thon help fund JA programs
in Memphis, Shelby County, and other communities in the Mid-South. You'll be glad to know
that
every time you roll a ball down the lane, you're rolling in funds to
help prepare kids make sound financial decisions for themselves and
to succeed in tomorrow's workplace.
Thanks to JA, students from kindergarten to high school get the
opportunity to learn "how business works." With the assistance of
local business volunteers, thousands of students learn first hand
how to relate economic concepts and business principles to real-life
situations.
Students learn valuable lessons in how leadership, education, and
teamwork play major roles in the success of business endeavors. Our
goal is to offer JA programs to every school in the
Mid-South, and we need your help.
